Neighbors Helping Neighbors
This roof was one of Diamond Roofing's first projects, and was past the point of seeing better days. Surprisingly enough, I don't believe there were any internal leaking issues - just really old shingles.
This home belongs to one of our neighbors. Before we started the roofing company, we had seen the progression of the deteriorating roof with shingles lying in the driveway, even after a few small areas were patched with new shingles. We were so happy to be able to help and work with this neighbor to make the roof good as new.
Take a look at the picture below: The top is before, the middle is during construction, and the bottom is after completion. The roof decking (the plywood underneath the shingles) over the front porch was nearly rotted. Looking just above and just below the guttering in the top section of the photo, you can see how warped the decking had become. Also, notice the texture of the shingles between the before and after photos. The roof looks smooth in the before picture. I remember Chris saying how slick it was to walk on during the initial inspection. The texture in the after picture ensures years of protection against nature's elements.
What was once a black roof, after years of wear, had become a nearly gray roof. In the before picture below, some of the shingles had become almost white after the asphalt texture had disappeared. We used Tamko Heritage shingles, in Rustic Black, to replace the entire roof. The new black shingles put so much life back into the house, making the white siding seem whiter.
This complete roof replacement was so satisfying - because we were able to protect the integrity of the home and, more importantly, help a neighbor out.
